Guidelines

Membership

• The BSUG Guideline group will be accountable to the BSUG Executive committee.
• The chair of the group will be chosen from members of the committee who have been on the committee for at least one year.
• A Shadow chair will be chosen after one year.
• Membership will be from members nominated from the BSUG.
• Two members will be chosen from the subspecialist trainees.
• The chair of the executive committee 
• One of the Urogynaecology representatives on the RCOG guidelines group.

Attendance at meetings

• The minimum attendance shall be the chairperson plus at least five members of the committee.
• Members will endeavour to attend all meetings.

Frequency of meetings

• Meetings will be held at UKCS and the BSUG annual meeting.
• Special meetings may be convened by the chairperson.
• Guideline writing groups may meet more frequently.

Duties and Responsibilities

• To choose the topics for guidelines.
• To liaise with the RCOG guidelines group to produce joint guidelines.
• To create independent guidelines.
• To monitor the process of guideline writing.
• To choose authors for the guidelines (not necessarily members of the committee).
• To prepare responses to national guidelines for the executive committee.
• To ensure the guidelines are prepared according to the RCOG clinical governance advice No. 1c .
• To produce information leaflets on commonly performed procedures.
• To develop parallel information on the guidelines.

Recording and reporting

• To maintain accurate minutes of the meetings.
• To report to the BSUG annual general meeting and to the executive committee.
